🏳️‍🌈 The Power of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance

Hey friends — this month, I want to shine a spotlight on something I’m incredibly proud to be part of: the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. I’m not just a member — I’m honored to serve as the Los Angeles Chapter President, and I can tell you firsthand that this organization is making real moves to ensure everyone has a fair shot at homeownership and a sense of belonging in our industry.

💡 What Is the Alliance All About?

Founded in 2020, the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance exists to make sure that who you love or how you identify never becomes a barrier to buying, selling, or owning a home.

Our mission is threefold:
🏠 Advocate for fair housing and equal opportunity nationwide.
📚 Educate and empower LGBTQ+ agents and allies to better serve our community.
🌈 Create safe, inclusive spaces for professionals and clients alike.

Yes, we’re a professional trade group — but at our core, we’re a movement. We’re building equity, trust, and visibility one transaction (and one conversation) at a time.

🚫 Why This Work Still Matters

It’s 2025 — and yet, in too many parts of America, LGBTQ+ buyers, sellers, and renters can still face discrimination without consequence. Not every state explicitly protects sexual orientation or gender identity under fair-housing laws, leaving too many people vulnerable to bias.

The numbers don’t lie: LGBTQ+ homeownership rates lag about 15 percent behind the national average. And roughly a third of agents say they’ve witnessed discrimination in housing firsthand. That’s exactly why the Alliance exists — to change both hearts and policies through education, advocacy, and visibility.

🎤 The “Future Forward” Rally — Celebrating Leadership, Growth & Community

Recently, I had the incredible honor of being a panelist at the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance’s “Future Forward Business & Networking Rally” in San Diego — an amazing conference dedicated to leadership, growth, and the power of representation in our industry.

I sat alongside some seriously impressive top producers (Industry rockstars with decades of experience), and while I might’ve been the “sophomore” of the bunch — five years in, three team members strong, and coming off my best year yet — it was surreal to share what I’ve learned since joining the business mid-pandemic.

I spoke about building a business rooted in authenticity, service, and consistency — and about the mentors, coaches, colleagues, friends, and family who’ve helped me get here. It was one of those full-circle moments that reminded me how far we’ve all come as a community — and how much further we can go when we lift each other up.

🎁 Save the Date: The Alliance Holiday Toy Drive & Fundraiser!

Now for the fun part — our signature holiday event is right around the corner!

📍 Casita del Campo, 1920 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

This year’s celebration will double as a Toy Drive and Fundraiser for The Laurel Foundation, an incredible organization that supports children, youth, and families affected by HIV/AIDS and other life challenges.

The event is FREE, but we’re asking everyone to bring a new unwrapped toy or make a donation to support the Laurel Foundation’s programs and holiday efforts. It’s the season of giving, and this is a beautiful way to give back and have a blast doing it.
